The ink on Pony Wave

Pony Wave from California

Where did you grow up?
Vladimir, Russia.

How was it growing up there, would you say that it influenced you?
Russia gave me this willing to reach all my goals, to work on myself and keep pushing to improve my skills and to be independent. I am lucky I was raised in Russia, because we all have a very rich inner life and an "enormous soul". Have you ever heard about Russian soul?

When did you start getting tattoos?
I was 18. It was a small star on my back.

How would you describe your style?
Girly, Realistic and New School.

Do you consider tattoos as a serious art form?
Absolutely!

How do you see the tattoo culture right now?
It is progressing with an unbelievable speed. Tattoo industry is everywhere: in show-business, in fashion and in art. Human potential is unlimited. “We all live in interesting times".

What’s your favorite piece?
My sleeve and my chest, another favorite is yet to come.

Do you catch people staring at you because of your ink?
I always do. Although, back home in Russia there were lots of negative views about tattoos, especially by members of older generations. In America I usually receive only positive attitudes and lots of compliments, and it makes me happy.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to get their first tattoo?
The most important thing is to find a good tattoo master, whom you can fully trust. Mutual understanding and confidence are the main aspects in tattooing.

Will you be getting anymore?
I just started.

What is one thing that life has taught you?
Never look back! Don’t waste your time! Don’t let resentment keep you captive!

Do you have a favorite quote?
Never give up!!!

Anything else you would like to add?
Be sincere and honest. Don’t forget to enjoy each moment of our life. Forgive, appreciate and love the life you live. Happiness is simple and "Happiness is only real when shared". Need one person to change the world - YOU!
